Last week, my husband decided to spring upon me, an impromptu vacation. He would say he told me a week ago, I just didn’t realize it would actually happen. Nor did I realize he actually made the arrangements. This time for vacation, we tried something new. Three days of golfing. I’ve never played that much golf consecutively. I was worried that I would be EXTREMELY tired afterward, but it was AWESOME!! I can tell you that I am a little worn out now, but once I pushed passed the soreness of the second day, I felt pretty energized after the third day. Today is a different story, but all I can think about is “when can we do that again!!”
I might be just a tad worried that there is something wrong with me. Day two, I played one of the WORST games since I first learned how to play, but it was the BEST!! Immediately afterward, I was ready to go another 18 holes. I’m worried I have a screw loose. Apparently, I just like torturing myself?? Although, my husband did say that I just described any man who loves to play golf.
I have also learned that about 90% of people who play golf, are not that good at it either. I’m usually worried being a woman who is new to golf and 30+ years old, that I would be an embarrassment to myself. However, after playing a couple rounds with people I don’t know, men who have played longer than me and even men who can hit the ball twice my distance, I have learned I don’t need to be so worried. Somehow, I find a way to keep up with the boys. 😉 (Those forward tees help too;) )
I never thought that I would like Golf. Honestly, I NEVER really cared for putt-putt and watching Golf is pretty boring. (Now I watch for tips!) However, playing Golf is COMPLETELY different than watching it. It’s a great opportunity for me to get outside, get some exercise and enjoy the challenge of hitting that little ball across a field. I’ve found that I absolutely LOVE it and I’m thankful I decided to give it a try. Women’s Senior PGA better watch out for me! 😉 I just need to get a few lessons first though… 😀
It was great to get a few days away. I feel a little more refreshed. I was getting a little bit of cabin fever being at home so much lately. But, I’m glad to be home too! I missed those little monkeys. Ok.. three days doesn’t give me a lot of time to really miss, but I do always miss my hugs, kisses and baby snuggles. Bedtime just isn’t the same without a crew of kids to hug before bed.
Also, just a heads up, this will most likely be my only post this week, as I am pretty far behind at home and gotta catch up. We have a birthday to celebrate too this week, followed by my husbands. March is always such a busy month for us!! Anywho, I Hope you have a great week!
